So I am the real deal now ....so many new adventures ahead !

Two years of hard work all boils down to today.  20 printed images and 4.5 minute DVD to respresnt the body of my ability and work! I am reflecting on my last two years the friends I have made, the lesson I have learned the abilities I have gained. I will leave here better, more ready for what I see and capture through the lens!

Saturday morning I  had miss Zaylee in front of the camera. She is a firecracker. I decided to use the front porch of what would have been Zaylee's Great Great Great granndmothers home. Its still standing on the family farm. It has incrediable old rockers weathered by time and front porch sitting, old windows with wavy glass and the the cob webbs and inperfections left by time made it a perfect spot to photograph a bare foot little girl wearing a hand smocked dress. I can't wait to have these images ready.

My school career is drawing to a end. I have mixed emotions about my time here coming to an end. As I start my new journey I am both excited and scared. Having a new baby, startting my own business, moving to a new state. Its all a lot to digest and process. I have so many goals and things to look forward to! I leave school with new knowledge and some life long friends......oh yeah and student loans  due!

Do the right thing for the right reasons always. This includes giving your talent away sometimes. I often find when I give it away I am richly blessed with a some of my best work. Something about giving it away opens up the soul make me feel more free to create, unfortunately that doesn't pay my bills:( So I have to select my cause carefully.

Looking forward to a road trip Sunday with a fellow photographer to help get the creative juices flowing. I need a good creative rain so to fill the well ! I really need a new challenge or idea to get me moving. I am ready for a change....ready to get my magic back.

I did a little relaxing this past weekend and enjoying the family. However my relaxing always seems to involve Nikki! We spent some time on Little Bear Lake. I had so much fun capturing images of the kids riding the floats and diving into the lake from rocks. I found it to be a balancing act to steady the camera  on a moving boat and capture the action being pulled behind it. I had a great time capturing these moments of the kids having so much fun as well as challenging myself to grab the shot.

I enjoyed some time with family on the lake this past weekend. I decided that Nikki would make her maiden journey on the boat! I got some great images of the kids riding and flying off the floats! My favorite are the images of them jumping in the lake from the rocks. It was challenging to steady myself and Nikki on a moving boat to get the shot but I think I created some great images and we made some great memories.

Yesterday I had the pleasure of photographing to very cute kids named Carter and Riley. We decided to  let them be kids and see what we could capture. We shot at the new Cumberland sprinkle park in Nashville. The kids had the best time playing in the sprinklers and in turn I got the most genuine expressions! It's so energizing to see the wonder and excitement on there little faces as they explore. I feel so fortunate that I get to capture these moments for people.

I call my camera "Nikki". My time with Nikki is some of the most rewarding,we make magic. I live for the moments when I  look through her and see what I couldn't without her close to my face. I like to have a vision of what I want my final product to look like. Then through my lens I adjust to make my vision my image reality. Each time I release that shutter I create something with my signature on it, that is pretty amazing.

A Single moment or expression so powerful moving, important, unforgettable, as the hands on the clock spin and it passes you by an image allows you to stop time. PHOTOGRAPHY. That image is rendered in all the richness that surrounded it. Your sense all employed and a total recall is possible through time framed. PHOTOGRAPHY. This is why for me photography is my art it my voice, my must.

I am able to tell your story, history, hopes and fears frame by frame. Photography isn’t just smiles, its tears shadows, and an outsider’s point of view. It’s emotions, devotion, actions, perception, intention, invention, creation all captured and viewed it is art It is subjective Its never simple. Images are vital to our future and past. My mission is to capture art, time, beauty, giggles, tears, victories, defeats smiles, trips down the aisle, golden anniversary and journeys home and all is artist taste and with a perception very unique.
